Remodel a Picture Frame- MAMBI Expandable Paper Pads

(This is not a sponsored post. I just really love these products and wanted to share my latest idea!)

MambiFrame

In case you’ve been living under a rock, let me start with this: I am obsessed withMe & My Big Ideas. It’s not very good for my wallet, but oh well! With their spring release, they also released these new Mambi Sheets:

They can be found at Michael’s and expand to four times the size of the pad. The texture is more like wrapping paper than scrapbook paper, but can still be used in a million different ways. These are just three of the packs. They had multiple packs, and it appears that a lot of them match the new line of planners, which I’m obsessed with. I personally bought the ones that match the “Be Bright” and “Botanical Garden” planners. (Middle and Right) My sister got the one that matches “Fresh Floral” (Left), as that is the planner she purchased. I can already think of a few different ways to incorporate these in your new planner, but I will wait until a later time to post those ideas!

Previously, I created a DIY Box & Cards using these expandable pages- you can check it out here.

Last night I was hanging out in my office waiting on my Jergens Natural Glow lotion to dry. (No shame in self tanning- one of my best friend’s is getting married Saturday and I can’t be a pasty ghost!) I was looking around my office and saw this photo frame on my shelf. It was given to me by some old co-workers as a wedding gift, but the design didn’t really match anything in my house. I threw it on my office shelf because I had no where else for it, but let’s be honest…. it didn’t really match.

Then I saw my Mambi Expandable Paper Pads sitting on my desk and remembered the current blog series going on on Me and My Big Ideas Blog about how to use these pads and I was inspired. I decided to cover the frame to match the decor! (I apologize for the bad lighting in these photos. I decided to do this project last minute, and it was dark outside!)IMG_4165

Of course I chose my Botanical Garden paper pad. Have I mentioned how obsessed I am with anything related to my Botanical Garden planner?? Anyway, let’s continue.  I choose the same flower paper that I used on my last project, mainly because I love it so much and I thought the colors complemented the rest of the decor.

All you need is the frame, the paper, scissors, and a hot glue gun. (Excuse my glue gun… it’s gross, but it’s been used for years! #reallife)

I cut the paper to fit the frame and cut the middle out as well. Then I basically just folded it like a present and glued it down. I didn’t bother covering the entire back of the frame because I knew no one would see the back as long as it was sitting on the shelf.

I considered putting a Mambi pocket page quote in the frame instead of the original picture, but I decided the flowers and the words made it too busy. So I stuck with the picture! I love the final product!

And here’s the before and after:

What do you think? I think it complements the shelf so much more! And I’m obsessed with recovering things with this paper. I think next up I’m going to do that large paperclip/paper weight on top of the white and pink striped box… and maybe even that box itself.

Why are you excited about these new Mambi Sheets? What do you plan on making with them? I’d love to hear your ideas! Leave a comment below or go tell me your ideas on my IG- @kellofaplan !

Happy planning!
